This individual is responsible for the coordination and implementationof offshore wind and other clean energy workforce services and relatedresponsibilities funded through grants to the MassHire-North ShoreWorkforce Board. These training grants include services such aspre-employment training through a pre-apprenticeship program leading toemployment through an apprenticeship program, Adult Basic Education,ESOL, career exposure and exploration, job development and placement,retention, and other services. Such services require documentation andresponsiveness to funding sources and collaboration with companies,unions, community partners, educational providers, and career centersalong with a focus on providing quality customer service to trainees,companies, and all partners. Specific Responsibilities: ? On a routinebasis, convene project teams, or individual members, including workforceboards, career centers, community colleges, vocational technicalschools, companies, unions, and other community partners to establishand manage training programs that work smoothly and result in qualityemployment opportunities and careers for students and quality talent forcompanies. ? Work with partners to ensure that services provided tostudents and companies, including recruitment, assessment, casemanagement, curriculum development, instruction, job placement,logistical issues, and other related grant activities are done at ahigh-quality level and in compliance with grant requirements. ? Overseewraparound services to ensure that trainees have support to stay intraining and successfully make the transition to related employment. ?Train and assist any staff responsible for assisting pre-apprenticeshipimplementation, primarily career center and/or other workforce boardstaff carrying out these responsibilities. ? Communicate to companiesand unions and assist when problems occur to resolve issues and ensuresatisfactory implementation of apprenticeship programs upon completionof the pre-apprenticeship activities. Also develop alternativeplacements into similar positions should union apprenticeships not beavailable at the conclusion of the pre-apprenticeship programs. ?Provide input to statewide clean energy programs with regard tocontinuous quality improvement as these programs expand and becomesustainable. ? Assist with managing grants, in conjunction with theworkforce board staff, including following budget and programrequirements, reporting to funding sources, entering information intodatabases and/or assisting partners to enter required data, and otherduties as they arise. ? Participate in statewide meetings with othergrant recipients and grant funders when required or requested. ? Priorto submission, prepare reports for review by leadership, theMassHire-North Shore Workforce Board, and other MassHire-North ShoreWorkforce Board partners on an ongoing basis and as required by fundingsources. ? Be involved in, and supportive of, project activities withother leveraged federal, state, and private funding sources. ? Ensurethat the companies and students receive the support ? financial andotherwise ? for successful completion of the various programs. ? Bringissues to the project teams as they arise so problems can be solved asthe project develops. Participate and/or lead partner convenings toensure that communication is clear, consistent, that work flowsefficiently and effectively, and that innovations to this work happen tocontinually improve training services. ? Assist in evaluation activitiesas determined by the grant partners. ? As part of the team, work toensure the sustainability of all training programs that best meet theneeds of industry in the region. ?
