  Position Summary:

  Develops, plans, coordinates and manages all activities of the Southeast Texas Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP) and supports research endeavors in the UTHealth Institute of Aging (IOA). Some activities consist of budget management, communication, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, coordination of educational programs, supporting assigned research projects and training and secondary oversight of research staff.

  Position Key Accountabilities:

  Oversees all aspects of the program activities. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitorsprojectprogress. Develops, implements, and manages policies and procedures.

  Will manage and adjust annual budget with IOA administrative director. Will negotiate servicecontracts,oversee monthly expenses and invoices and report on progress and/or authorize expenditures.

  Informs upper management of key activities and makes periodic progress reports.

  Works closely with internal departments and collaborating subcontractors of the GWEP regarding strategy and further collaborativeopportunities.

  Direct the preparation of progress reports and grant proposals to both private foundations and governmental agencies. Ensure that all reports are submitted to the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) in a timely manner.

  Supports IOA's pre and post award duties and research projects asassigned

  Working in conjunction with IOA marketing coordinator, may create and edit various communications materials for the GWEP and IOA, which may include printed materials, web site content and/or department newsletters.

  Communicates with community stakeholders, faculty from collaborating institutions and professionals to share objectives and outcomes. May prepares/makes oral presentations for GWEP program directors or present at professionalmeetings.

  Will support and assist in the development, management and coordination of IOA researchinfrastructure

  Other duties asassigned.

  Certification/Skills:

  May require program-specific certifications.

  Minimum Education:

  Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in lieu of education.

  Minimum Experience:

  Five (5) years of applicable experience.

  Physical Requirements:

  Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

  Security Sensitive:

  This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215

  Residency Requirement:

  Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
