Primary Function:Develop, initiate, and maintain programs to help educate others regarding domestic violence and sexual assault, provide advocacy services and case management to clients, and provide education to staff, board of directors, volunteers, and interns regarding best practices for caring for the victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. In addition, this position will assist in procuring grant funding for the agency through grant writing and outreach efforts.

Responsibilities:
Program Coordinator: 60%
Maintain a client database while providing case management for shelter/post-shelter residents of each county served, utilizing best advocacy practices so that clients may achieve their personal, financial, vocational, and educational goals.Coordinate extra client-centered donation events such as Adopt-a-family, Easter baskets, bookbag drives, and others that may arise throughout the year.Create, coordinate, and teach workshops in each service county using best practices while complying with grantor rules and regulations.Research and prepare grant proposals and report to grantors relating to agency program funding and matters. Research and provide recommendations to the Executive Director concerning potential grant opportunities.Raise community awareness regarding domestic violence and sexual assault prevention while networking and participating in community events and fundraisers sponsored by CWS under the direction of the Board of Directors and/or those agencies and organizations approved by the Board of Directors and/or Executive Director.Victim Advocacy: 30%
Provide victim advocacy services when full-time advocates are unavailable to any county we serve; serve in an on-call capacity monthly for all three counties we serve; process financial and donation requests for clients as needed.Maintain, contribute, and continue to develop a more profound knowledge of the best practices relating to domestic violence and sexual assault programs, funding opportunities, victim advocacy and current compliance rules and regulations.Work with and train staff, volunteers, Board of Directors, and interns as needed relating to issues of our advocacy to our clients.Administrative: 10%
Attend team and community meetings as appropriate while also networking with other community agencies.Answer telephone and doorAssist in keeping work environment clean and free of potential health hazards.Perform other related duties as directed and/or needed.Qualifications:
Education
A two-year college degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required; four-year degree preferred.
Experience
Proven ability to Independently and collaboratively with CWS staff members and other community agencies; ability to forge a mutually respectful partnership with clients served, in which they are empowered through information and options to make their own choices. Basic knowledge of domestic violence, domestic violence protective orders, sexual assault, program services, and community resources are preferred. Must possess professional level office skills and know office equipment including phone, fax, copier, voicemail, calculator, printer, computer, and other office machines. An understanding of Microsoft software is required.
