Job Description This position serves the Study Abroad and Away Office within the Center for Global Education and Experience - a nationally recognized providerof high-impact, experiential, and justice-oriented programming in Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the USA. Summary of Position The Program Associate (PA) for off-campus study (abroad and in the USA) serves as an advisor for students studying off-campus. The PA provides student support services from application through re-entry. In this role, the PA manages off-campus semester programs and a small portfolio of faculty-led programs. The PA maintains policies and procedures to promote intercultural learning, academic success, health and safety, and career development. Primary Responsibilities Provide student support services including advising, application assistance, program selection, program guides and materials, enrollment management, course registration, etc. Oversee advising functions for Augsburg students across all study abroad/away programs. Manage Augsburg faculty-led programs from concept, proposal process, and program design to promotion, advising, registration, visas, etc. Manage external relations with exchange partner universities (including NSE) and 3rd-party affiliate programs. In collaboration with the Associate Director for Marketing and Recruitment, coordinate marketing and recruitment activities to match Augsburg students with appropriate programs. Develop and deliver pre-departure orientation and re-entry programs for outbound students, focusing on health and safety, intercultural learning, and career development. Assist with inbound student orientation. Manage payments to providers and student billing, ensuring accuracy in Augsburg's finance system. Manage evaluation and assessment of programs and student learning. Additional Responsibilities Maintain Augsburg-student-specific content on CGEE's website. Collaborate with offices across campus to support student success on study abroad/away, including Multicultural Life, Disability Services (CLASS), StepUp, Counseling and Wellness Center, TRiO/SSS, URGO, Academic Advising, Career Services, Financial Aid, etc. Serve as secondary ARO for the J-1 exchange visa program. Serve on the CGEE Health and Safety Committee. Other duties as assigned. Work Environment and Physical Demands Regular computer use. Occasional domestic and international travel; possible program accompaniment. Evening/weekends occasionally required. On-call, 24/7 emergency phone duty for 1-2 weeks at a time, multiple times throughout the year. Lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling: 25 pounds.
