  Job Title: Day Program AssistantFLSA Status: Full Time - non-exemptReports to: Program SupervisorSchedule: FT, variesSupervises: N/AStart Date: TBDRate of Pay: $21/hourClose Date: 2/3/2024Benefits: Standard; Full-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for butnot limited to the following:Health, vision, dental, life as well as voluntary life and disabilityinsuranceSick leave benefit - 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual andavailability begins at hire)Vacation benefit - 10 vacation days per year, accrued at the rate of .0385hours for each hour worked, excluding overtime (accrual begins at hire butmay not be used until the completion of six months of employment)One floating day off for use (accrued immediately, and again annually,but may not be used until the completion of the initial three-monthintroductory period of employment)Pension Plan (after one year of continuous service)Voluntary Tax-Deferred Annuity Plan (403(b)plan)Function: This is a full time, non-exempt, hourly position, 40 hoursa week with vacation and sick time as well as medical, dental, andoptional insurance coverages.The program seeks a candidate who is flexible and available to work businesshours along with awake, overnight 12-hour shifts, if needed. Schedule tobe determined based on coverage needs. The assistant works with guests toensure that all are being safe, responsible, and respectful while at thefacility. We are seeking a candidate who can work independently with limitedsupervision. This position requires the ability to use discretion whenaddressing or resolving resident matters while providing a positive customerexperience for program guests. The assistant requires basic knowledge ofrecord keeping practices and procedures. This position also has some cleaningresponsibilities in addition to light food preparation/serving.Work Environment: Lambuth is a warm, casual, work residentialenvironment for staff. Lambuth has a welcoming family centered approach.Duties and Responsibilities: (List by section/topic as possible)Provides consistent coverage for assigned shiftsPerforms general administrative functions such as noting within thecommunication log, answering the phone, data entry in Wellsky, scanningreceipts, completing inventory of products, and responding to in-personinquiries in a professional manner.Provides appropriate information and referrals for those who need otherresources.Assists guests of the Lambuth Family Center with needs and questions.Works with guests to ensure all are being safe, responsible, andrespectful while at the facility.Helps guests resolve any issues as they may ariseProvides crisis intervention as needed, including determining when it isnecessary to involve other staff, administration or the authorities.Assist Office Manager, Case Managers, and Program Supervisor in projectsas neededAssist in light cleaning and food preparation/servingAttends staff meetings and participates in activities designated bysupervisor.Utilizing a Trauma Informed Care approachEnsuring all guests are adhering to the policies and procedures and informingappropriate staff of incidents or concerns in a timely manner.Other duties as assigned.   Qualification and Education Requirements:Minimum High School Diploma or GED required, Associates or bachelor'sdegree preferred.Customer services experience; effective communication and people skillsDesire to serve others who are overcoming hardshipsAbility to establish and maintain professional boundariesExperience using trauma informed care and crisis management techniques,preferredAbility to work independently or in a teamAbility to assess emergency situations and respond effectivelyWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office, integrated database applications,and ability to use new software programs with basic trainingSuccessfully pass background checkProficient written and verbal skills in the English LanguageComplete internal Protecting the Mission training for working with minorswithin three months of employmentMust be prompt and dependableBe supportive of The Salvation Army's mission. Ability to reflect and modelthe high standards of our organization as one of the world's mostdistinguished human services charitable organization.Qualifications
