Position Summary:
The Program and Operations Manager will be part of a collaborative team that includes the Center for Disability Studies and the Gender Institute on a project funded by the Mellon Foundation, “Communities of Care,” focused on networks and relations of care and the pursuit of disability justice, especially within marginalized communities. The Communities of Care project will build connections between the University at Buffalo and the broader Western New York area.
The Program and Operations Manager will:
Build strong and cooperative relationships with the university community and with the broader Buffalo community.
Perform tasks and responsibilities that maximize the effectiveness of the Communities of Care program.
Communicate regarding the institute with the rest of the university and with the community.
Independently manage the day-to-day workflow and projects within the office including personnel, finance, communications, and other administration.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, and related experience. Requirements may be satisfied by an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in administration, budget management or closely related professional experience.
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills, able to communicate clearly and respectfully with diverse populations including faculty, senior leadership, staff, students, guests and community members.
Possess a strong sense of accountability and be self-motivated.
Experience with program and/or event planning.
Experience with design and development of communication materials, including social media and website maintenance.
Possess and display a high-level of customer service to all constituents.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree
More than two years of experience providing executive level support.
Experience in higher education environment.
Experience with University at Buffalo policies, procedures, and administrative systems.
Strong computer design skills to upgrade the media communications of the center.
Experience with website, video and graphic design software. Ex. Content Management System ( CMS ), Adobe Experience, Indesign, Canva, Finalcut Pro
Experience with universal design and/or creating accessible content and events.
