Minimum Qualifications Two (2) years permanent service as a New York State employee in a title allocated Salary Grade 6 or higher,OROne (1) year permanent service as a New York State employee in a title allocated Salary Grade 9 or higher,ORHigh School diploma and two years of experience in a Human Resources support role, which includes use of office software (e.g., email, word processing), provision of customer service, business writing, and/or management of an office.
Duties Description A Program Aide functions as a paraprofessional who performs a wide variety of administrative activities and tasks in support of the Director of Human Resources and the Human Resources Specialists assigned to the Non-Sworn Hiring Unit, Office of Human Resources.DUTIES: Assist in the recruitment and selection of employees by reviewing applications. Assist in position classification activities for a personnel office by compiling necessary data and preparing transmittal correspondence. Research laws, rules and regulations, or manuals of procedures to find alternative approaches to administrative problems or issues. Develop and implement methods of data analysis. Assist in preparing short-term and long-range work objectives and goals. Prepare and edit draft correspondence and other documents. Assist in the review, evaluation and analysis of a variety of reports and records specific to the assignment. Assist in the administration of non-sworn promotional and open-competitive examinations.Perform complicated clerical processing and record maintenance activities utilizing Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.Support day-to-day operations by answering the telephone, receiving documents, data entry, photocopying and other clerical tasks as requested.Perform other duties as directed by the supervisory staff of the Human Resources Unit.
