ABOUT THE JOB:
The Production Supervisor (PS) is responsible for leading and coaching both in-house and field teams and will also coordinate with external vendors to achieve on-time, quality readiness. The Production Supervisor will also be responsible for all aspects of inventory management. This is a fast-paced, construction-oriented environment where safety is critical. Success will be accomplished through value driven execution that fully complies with WSMM policies and all relevant laws and regulations. The Production Supervisor will maintain excellent service standards, respond efficiently to internal/external inquiries, and strive for high customer satisfaction.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Environment, Health & Safety
Conducts business in compliance with all Environmental Health & Safety Policies.
Manages employee/vendor health and safety through creating a safe workplace with Safety Save, training and observations, and regularly scheduled assessments.
Ensures operating standards are conducted; supported by robust training and communication actions.
Production
Ensure all work orders are completed effectively. Weekly review/reporting on performance to refine strategies. Labor efficiency assessment and capacity planning activities.
Ensures all off-rents are conducted within the determined timeline; units returned are thoroughly inspected for work order accuracy and capture any damage billing where appropriate.
Schedule and coordinate field service and setup teams
Relocates idle fleet and conduct work order assessment as required.
Conducts fleet physical inventory counts at established frequencies.
Manage the Work Order system and the drivers that impact inaccuracies, develops a strategy to ensure variances are minimal by ensuring work orders for idle fleet are accurate.
Issue and track vendor purchase orders
Orders, receives, and distributes parts/materials/VAPS to work teams/vendors on a timely basis to support unit completion requirements. Conducts parts and VAPS inventory counts.
Focuses on driving first-time quality and reducing service calls, communicates with shop personnel to conduct root cause analysis and creates permanent corrective actions.
Field Service Operations
Supervise the field teams where applicable.
Work efficiently to achieve targets on service call timeliness.
Develop and maintain professional relationships with outside vendors.
Travel for customer site inspections may be required.
Inventory Management
Manage all activities related to parts/materials/VAPS and material flow to maximize the use of company resources.
Ensure they are stored in a secure manner.
Monitor and enter parts/materials/VAPS into SAP all materials that are placed in service or delivery vehicles that will be consumed during a Service or D&I work order.
Ensure designated area on branch grounds where vendors deliver materials is safely aligned with branch production workflow.
Inventory all parts/materials/VAPS before issuing them.
Monitor inventory levels and be proactive in resolving inventory variances.
Oversee the counting and/or measuring of incoming or outgoing parts/materials/VAPS to verify measurements against invoices, orders, or other records.
Record and assess all materials quality, movement, and expenditure.
Generate key inventory reports to reconcile inventory.
Verify all receipts and consumption are completed real time in the appropriate consumption and procurement modes.
Responsible for tracking performance using departmental metrics, as well as organizing inventory records for future reference.
Customer Service
Build sustainable relationships and trust with vendors and customers through open, proactive communication.
Timely communicate schedules with customers while following communication procedures and guidelines.
Drives high levels of product quality (First Time Quality)
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required with 5+ years of experience as a supervisor in a service. shop/manufacturing/building construction environment. College Degree preferred (industry experience considered).
Experience preferred on-boarding and developing strong team members.
Working knowledge of MS Office/Excel/Word/Outlook is required.
Experience with SAP is preferred.
Ability to effectively manage multiple, changing priorities in a fast-paced environment is required.
A desire to create the safest, most cost-effective work environment and exceed customer expectations is required.
The ability to create and maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment is required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly on a daily basis.
Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions.
Ability to work with a variety of hand tools in a proficient manner.
Ability to work climb a ladder up to 25 feet.
Ability to drive/travel for multiple hours on a daily basis.
Eye sight and auditory skills must be sufficient to meet safety expectations of the position.
Ability to stand and perform manual labor on a daily basis.
Abilities and Other Requirements
To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, and to move about the work environment to receive training/coaching as well as to interact with peers as necessary. The employee must be able to verbally communicate with employees, co-workers, and vendors in person, via email and by phone. Travel for customer site inspections as well as training may be required. The ability to perform work in a professional office and shop environment and be able to use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copier, scanner, tablet, is required.
