  We are looking for a Chromatography and ÄKTA Specialist for Birmingham, Stevenage, Slough and the surrounding region in the UK. Have you used lab-scale ÄKTA chromatography systems and have a passion for working with customers in a commercial role? Then we would love to hear from you.

  What you’ll do

  Working with Cytiva's range of lab-scale ÄKTA chromatography systems, you will offer your expertise to customers in Birmingham, Stevenage, Slough and the surrounding region. The major part of your time will be spent with biotech and biopharma companies in Birmingham, Stevenage and Slough. In addition, you will manage academic institutes in Birmingham, Warwick, Reading, Southampton and Portsmouth.

  You will be part of a close team of chromatography specialists and use your commercial and technical skills to support customers and generate business. Your daily work will be varied, including planning customer visits, conducting activities to generate new sales leads, managing customer projects (working with customer service, field-service engineers and logistics companies), running product demonstrations, running training workshops, answering customer questions, delivering seminars and webinars, and attending promotional events.

  You will manage sales leads and prospects using Salesforce Lightning CRM database and analyse sales data to aid decision making. With support from your manager, you will be empowered to manage your territory, set priorities, and create a business plan.

  You will work to understand your customer's needs and build strong, long-term business partnerships.

  Who you are

  You should have a strong life science background and be experienced in protein chromatography. University level degree in a Life Science related discipline is essential. PhD or equivalent experience is highly desirable.

  No previous commercial experience is required since full training will be provided.

  A strong understanding of protein chromatography is essential. A minimum of 3 years hands-on experience with ÄKTA systems is essential. Experience with ÄKTA pure, ÄKTA go and/or ÄKTA avant is highly desirable.

  The role comes with a company car. You should be able to travel and work on-site with customers 3-4 days per week.

  You should have a customer-centric attitude, able to balance the needs of the customer and Cytiva.
