Product Development Machinist To support engineering initiatives by processing diverse work requests to manufacture low volume iterative parts and tooling solutions using various machining processes while adhering to set safety & quality standards in a product development setting. Duties and responsibilities: Operate CNC and manual mills, lathes, and drill presses with minimal supervision Wears required PPE and operates machines & equipment safely and responsibly Monitors tool wear and adjusts offsets as needed Communicates challenges and effectively collaborates with team members to help identify solutions Travels between facilities as needed to maintain tooling for Operations in Plant 1 Operates forklifts and PIT vehicles to safely transfer parts, tooling, and raw materials Assists in other areas of the Product Development Lab based on workload Submits order requests to Purchaser for raw materials & consumables Uses calibrated measuring equipment to perform part inspections Assembles fixtures and works with team to validate tool builds Uses best practices to machine parts from ferrous/non-ferrous base materials Cuts raw materials to size on saw and labels parts & stock accordingly Accurately reads/interprets part drawings and maintains a high quality output Required Skills: Ability to problem solve and display strong analytical skills Knowledge of G & M code Strong print reading and part inspection skills Strong understanding of base raw materials Must be willing to cross train and pursue growth of individual skillset Ability to concentrate on tasks, make decisions, and work calmly & effectively in a deadline oriented environment Willingness to be flexible with time and adjust to a changing work environment Ability to build and maintain positive relationships Ability to use sound judgment and discretion in dealing with highly confidential information Ability to take direction but carry out work independently in a well-organized fashion Must be able to routinely lift up to 40lbs and operate forklift & PIT vehicles as needed Must be knowledgeable with use of inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, bore gages) Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent 5-7 years related work experience Experience in an operations or product development setting preferred Begin your journey with us.
