Associate General Counsel Responsibilities Assist with the Department's prevailing wage activities and requirements. Assist with the Department's data practices activities including privacy and security incident analysis. Conduct legal research, writing, and analysis and provide legal advice to the Department. Provide the Department with legal expertise to support the Department's compliance with state and federal laws. Assist with coordinating the Department's litigation and collaborating with other staff concerning implementation of legal policies and best practices. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications To receive credit for your education and experience, your resume should clearly describe how you meet each minimum and/or preferred qualification listed, including dates of employment. One (1) year of legal experience as a practicing attorney which must include conducting legal research, writing, and analysis for the last year. Judicial clerkship experience will count towards this criteria. Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school. Licensed to practice law in Minnesota and current with continuing legal education requirements. Experience in one or more areas of laws related to the position: the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act; government grants/contracts/acquisitions; civil litigation; and/or closely relat d field as determined by the hiring agency. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act and ability to analyze data, determine classification of data, and provide protection of not public data. Ability to produce written products that are thorough in content, professional in appearance, and understandable to their non-legal audience. Experience: Related to prevailing wage law. Handling issues related to state and federal laws as they relate to the Department's programs and services. Planning and delivering legal training to non-legal audiences.
