Position Overview
Navistar is seeking a Product Development Engineer with Electrical experience to join our team at our WHQ in Lisle, IL! The Engineer is responsible for establishing, maintaining and enforcing the electrical feature designs & documentation by working with other teams to establish requirements and develop electrical logic diagram designs. Additional responsibility is to ensure the electrical features meet Navistar & governmental requirements.
Responsibilities
Develop solutions to complex problems while maintaining the integrity of the product
Develop high level functional schematics
Identify, troubleshoot, contain, and permanently correct engineering issues
Develop electromechanical products by studying customer requirements; soliciting observations from operators
Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests
Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations
Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed
Coordinate testing of design for durability and compliance to Federal, State and local requirements
Support Manufacturing and plant goals of safety, quality and cost
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer ScienceOR
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and will obtain degree prior to first day of employmentAdditional Requirements
Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Electrical Engineering degree preferred
Basic understanding of electrical systems as well as a process driven problem-solving methodology
An understanding of Mentor Capital Toolset, use of Capital Logics is a plus
Understanding of Navistar’s CDMS rules is a plus
Basic knowledge of Vehicle Systems, interdependencies, and their impact upon functional performance
Understanding of truck applications and associated product requirements
Problem solving skills and ability to troubleshoot
Excellent oral, written, and communication skills
MS office
HIGH sense of urgency
