Kelly is seeking a Procurement Supervisor to work with our client, a global chemical manufacturing organization, on a direct hire basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the most successful divisions of the company, with many products leading the industry and more growth to come!
The Procurement Supervisor will:
Lead all maintenance/repair & operation (MRO), EPC Service, and technical procurement activities
Manage up to 4 direct and indirect reports
Ensure that the correct services and materials are available to meet the site production plans
Provide procurement team management and lead procurement for capital projects, plant turnarounds, and specialized needs as they arise
Ensure that supply for services is safe and compliant to the correct technical specification and on schedule to meet operational requirements
Produce and manage RFQs
Lead negotiations with vendors to secure best commercial terms for the business
Identify and recommend new vendors to the businesses that can offer a commercial or technical advantage to mitigate project or asset schedule risks
Provide expert advice on procurement related risks, including in depth market knowledge, both commercial and technical, to the wider organization
Network with the global procurement organization to maximize volume leverage
Ensure accurate and timely management of SAP material master data and agreements
Produce timely and complete POs
Qualifications:
10+ years of front-line technical procurement experience within the chemical industry
Degree in Engineering or similar field preferred
Understanding of chemical manufacturing processes and practices, incl. site safety standards and legislation
Advanced contract negotiation experience required
EPC Project experience and knowledge required
Experience of leading teams in a diverse working environment
Commercial acumen, deep understanding of cost drivers in contracts
Advanced analytical and economic analysis skills
Excellent project management skills
Knowledge of contract law and ABC regulations
Knowledge of business accounting principles and practice
Ability to work with MS-Office and SAP IT tools efficiently and effectively
Decisive and tenacious in pursuit of objectives, demonstrating a proactive mentality and bias for action
Ability to think innovatively and strategically
Strong influencer
Highly numerate with an analytical mind-set and attentive to detail
Calm under pressure, able to make quick, clear, and reasoned decisions in a dynamic environment
Leader of people, effective at engaging others in working together towards a common goal
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, natural relationship builder
