SUMMARY: Under general supervision, the Procurement Specialist I is responsible for the procurement of assigned commodities and services required to support ATS’ business goals. Uses best procurement practices to obtain lowest total cost of ownership for assigned items.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Performs purchasing duties to plan and procure supplies, materials, equipment and services.

Prepares RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs for goods and services. Evaluates supplier proposals and recommends contract awards.

Prepares and executes purchase orders and agreements for goods and services in support of company business goals. Executes purchases for critical goods or services using standard format for contracts and purchase orders.

Procures planned goods, raw materials and chemicals to maintain adequate inventory levels to increase production proficiencies and on time completions.

Coordinates the fabrication, heat treat, and material process requirements in accordance with FAA and OEM directives.

Provides order updates to production, internal planning, and overhead department leadership. Expedites purchase orders as required to support ATS customers (internal and external).

Works directly with customers as a focal point for material status to keep production on track.

Resolves issues pertaining to purchase orders: receiving, invoicing discrepancies and timely closure of purchase orders.

Frequently communicates with suppliers to build and maintain positive, long-term supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and delivery targets are met.

Interfaces with ATS team members at many levels, up to and including middle management.

Regular and prompt attendance.

Effective and appropriate conduct with co-workers.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Some travel may be required.

May be required to work extended hours to meet deadlines.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Associates degree in related field preferred.

Minimum of one (1) year working experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit, stand, and walk; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee may also be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Compensation

The base salary for this position is $23.00 – $35.00 (expressed as hourly for non-exempt), exclusive of benefits or potential bonuses. The lower end of the range represents the target base pay for those beginning or developing in the role. The higher end of the range is intended for those who have mastered the role, with proven significant expertise, high achievement, and specialized skills. If you are hired at ATS, your hourly rate will be based on factors such as skills, education and experience. In addition to those factors – we consider internal equity of our current employees when determining offers. This position is eligible for an annual bonus. We also offer a generous benefits package, as detailed below.

Tuition/License Assistance: ATS offers a generous tuition reimbursement program including Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) student loan repayment, Airframe/Powerplant (AP) certification (coursework and/or testing), and business-related degrees.
