Role Definition:

Processes requisitions and provides support for purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, cost, price analyses and contract/purchase order generation.

Responsibilities:

• Developing improvement plans to support buyers professionals related to Response Time, Lean Targets Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM) to enable optimal and efficient operations.

• Performing analysis and maintenance of assigned processes that produce output excellence, builds expertise for the assign process area, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

• Supporting customers and customer proposal efforts with pricing information and supplier selection.

• Performing analytical and administrative tasks in support of purchasing strategic initiatives.

Degree Requirement: Bachelor of Engineering from Tier 1 college/University.

ROLE

Caterpillar India is seeking a Cost Reduction Project Lead/ Category Buyer in Thiruvallur, India. In this role, the Candidate will be tasked with defining and driving cost improvements for Global Drivetrain Procurement with an Estimated spend of $1Bn. The Candidate will closely work with Global Category Managers Buyers to help them focus on Cost Reduction including parts aftermarket and provide support at strategic and tactical levels.

SKILLS

Business Acumen: Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

Data Gathering and Reporting: Knowledge of tools (Microsoft Power BI, Automation Techniques, Excel, etc), techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data; ability to practice them in a particular department or division of a company.

Teamwork: Ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Analysis of historical cost data to predict future cost estimates

Predict and Manage Cost Increases In line with Enterprise Cost Goals

Material cost planning Management

Commodity Forecast Management

Budget Forecast and Maintenance

Interpret potential risks, threats, and opportunities involved to achieve Cost Goals

Work closely with Global Buyers to Lead VAVE Projects

Drive cost-reduction or profitable solutions

Conduct market research to support future business planning

Prepares periodic cost reconciliation reports tracking data such as changing labor and supply costs.

Contribute to developing yearly operation plans, budgets, and estimating new product costs, including economic analysis

Handling Big Data from Global team and Analyse based on requirement
