Process Engineer - Southport, NC
This is a full-time, exempt position.
Position Summary:
Identify, investigate and correct process operational problems and inefficiencies. Assist production personnel in
troubleshooting process problems. Identify maintenance problems and generate work orders for repair. Work with
maintenance to plan and schedule repair work daily. Serve as project manager for small projects during the design
phase, construction period and implementation of engineering solutions. Investigate and research ways to improve
the operational functions in an industrial setting. Provide Root Cause Analysis for machine and process reliability.
Specific Job Duties:
Ensures the safety of all operation personnel through daily;
Encouraging employees to work safely with environmental awareness and good manufacturing practices in mind.
Compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.
Recommendations for improvements to company facilities, equipment and safety programs.
Leading by example with a positive outlook.
Participates in open communication through;
Communicating concerns for safety, environmental, health, and product quality to employees.
Listening and responding to employee suggestions and concerns.
Providing positive reinforcement when employees are observed producing safe performance and good results.

Ensures the safety of all personnel through compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.
Maintains an attitude that accidents are preventable and has safety conversation with employees throughout the shift.
Makes recommendations for improvements to company safety and environmental programs, quality and good manufacturing practices and production and material handling procedures.
Communicates concern for environmental, health, safety and product quality to all employees.
Encourages employees to work safely with environmental awareness and good manufacturing practices in mind.
Works with employees to develop a high level of job proficiency, work through troubleshooting process problems with department employees.
Attends and participates in operation area meetings, safety meetings and supervisor’s meetings.
Actively involved in a plant safety committee.
Reads department SORs and audits and follows up.
Lead all aspects of project engineering process, compile project proposals, budget projection and capital expenditure work, act as expert source of knowledge and advise management engineering priorities.
Purchase necessary equipment and materials while delivering on target budget for all projects.
Manage contractors performing engineering duties in industrial setting.
Provide technical support to management and production staff. Use and update P&ID drawings.
Participate in daily production meetings, and have ability to effectively communicate across levels of the organization
Identify mechanical issues and maintenance needs on a daily basis and work with maintenance planners to schedule work with minimum loss of production.
Qualifications:
4-year Degree in an Engineering discipline.
Ability to work on multiple tasks
Ability to team build.
Ability to train.
Good organizational skills.
Willingness to assume and learn new responsibilities.
Excellent communication skills.
Demonstrated troubleshooting skills
Accurate record keeping skills.
Excellent safety record and awareness.
Previous process experience.
