job summary:
Process Engineer opportunity working as part of this clients Research and Development team located approximately 1 hour South of the Charlotte, NC area. This position will support the new product Introduction process by ensuring all new products have a defined high quality manufacturing process as part of the project.

responsibilities:
Working with the Research and Development team responsible for the successful delivery of new products from development to commercialization
Using accepted techniques including Design of Experiments, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, Statistical Process Control, and others to develops process standardization (where applicable) and contribute to reducing variability on processes
Execute process studies, contribute to pre-projects and perform initial project scoping and business case development for capital projects
Provide expertise at all levels, to include Production Operators and Quality Technicians for the onsite operations group to troubleshoot process-related issues
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field
Approximately 10 or more years relevant experience in a coatings or chemical manufacturing environment (will consider less experience with advnaced degress such as a Masters or PhD)
Demonstrated ability to interpret data and develop insights based on knowledge of chemical structures and reactivity, process/manufacturing data propose, and test hypotheses
Ability to summarize, organize and present data in graphical and tabular formats
Ability to manage projects simultaneously
Experience with Microsoft Project and proficiency with Microsoft Office
