Robert Half is currently seeking a highly experienced and skilled Estate Paralegal for a job opportunity in our firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of tasks related to estate planning and probate administration.
Start Date: January 27, 2025
Duration: Ongoing (potential for permanent hire)
Location: On-site, Long Island, NY
Hours: 8:30am-5:30pm EST
Pay: $28/hour (on contract)
Responsibilities:
• Assisting in the preparation, drafting and review of estate plans, wills, trusts and, probate documents.
• Coordinating estate planning and probate administration.
• Conducting legal research on various estate laws and procedures.
• Liaising with heirs, beneficiaries, executors and other parties.
• Facilitating estate tax returns and inventories.
• Assisting attorneys in preparing for meetings and court appearances.
Qualifications:
• Paralegal certification or relevant degree.
• At least two years of experience as an estate paralegal or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of estate planning and probate matters, laws, and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, legal research tools, and estate planning software.
• Outstanding organizational and multitasking ability.
Requirements • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field
• Hold a Paralegal certification from an accredited institution
• Have a minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Paralegal in a law firm
• Demonstrate expertise in Civil Litigation
• Show a thorough understanding of probate law and procedures
• Exhibit excellent research and report-writing skills
• Be proficient in using legal research platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis
• Have experience in drafting legal documents such as wills, trusts, and probate forms
• Display strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Have exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
• Be comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Be proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel
• Show familiarity with case management software
• Be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
• Be willing to continue learning and stay updated with changes in probate law.
