POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Principal Technical Program Manager , you’ll collaborate closely with our Head of Product Innovation to deliver cutting-edge solutions to global clients. You’ll establish and lead a Program Management Office (PMO) within our Digital Innovation Group, ensuring alignment across the organization by defining priorities, schedules, and deliverables. With responsibilities spanning technical investment roadmaps, architecture specs, and risk assessment, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our innovative digital landscape.

RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned

Establish a Program Management Office (PMO) for the Digital Innovation Group, including processes, timelines, and documentation.

Ensure alignment across the organization through the PMO by clearly defining priorities, schedules, deliverables, and expectations.

Coordinate technical investment roadmap milestones into broader organizational strategic plans, including budgeting, proposal development support, and tracking of actuals.

Develop playbooks for technical approach and execution and oversee technical delivery phases.

Develop reference specs for the architecture and technology components that relate to global APIs platforms, including but not limited to Android, Google Maps, YouTube, and Facebook.

Identify and recruit partners to build established stack components in collaboration with the Head of Product.

Define success criteria for testing and product acceptance, assess and address technical risks of products, and manage the quality assurance processes for each product.

Assess emerging products, innovations, and companies and make recommendations for leveraging new technologies in collaboration with the Head of Product and the Head of Programs and Partnerships.

Serve as a strategic partner and subject expert with the Head of Partnerships in addressing questions from the technical/development community. 

Train employees on product use and innovative solutions, as needed.

Participate in product management activities such as brainstorming, ideation, prototyping, and testing of new digital concepts.

QUALIFICATIONS

8+ years relevant experience in product development in roles such as product manager - technical, technical program manager, or architect.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.

1-3 years of experience working in the field of artificial intelligence / machine learning.

3-6 years supervisory experience with developers and/or vendor engineering teams.

Experience with business plan, portfolio and product roadmap development.

Demonstrated data-driven decision-making skills, including strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics using industry-standard business management software such Microsoft Office and PowerBI.

Strong technical skills and working knowledge of data structures/algorithms, SQL, UX, UI, and Design best practices, and software development skills.

Proven ability to develop innovative solutions from ideation to final delivery.

Ability to work well with internal and external teams (i.e., developers, engineers, architects, quality assurance, operations) to ensure requirements are fully understood, and implementation plans match expectations.

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to communicate technical requirements to both developers and non-technical audiences.

Proven ability to plan and manage multiple complex projects that involve multiple stakeholders.

An understanding of and a commitment to advancing the mission and values of Opportunity International .

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Fluency in written and spoken English required.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to travel globally up to 20%
