The SDO Privacy team is responsible for delivering privacy technology solutions that build and maintain Amazon customer’s trust. We partner across Stores and Digital businesses to build, monitor, and protect a secure environment for Amazon's business, software, and data. This leadership role will help create the best privacy experiences for our customers and internal stakeholders, driving programs that define strategy and requirements all the way through to delivery and subsequent operation.
As a Privacy Solutions Architect, you will focus on enterprise applications and business processes that help protect our customer’s trust by architecting privacy bar raising solutions. You will help shape and deliver the Privacy strategy across Amazon’s retail experiences including but not limited to Amazon.com, Alexa, Prime Video, Kindle, and our subsidiaries (e.g. Audible, Zappos, Whole Foods). Your broad responsibilities will include constructing functional solutions and engaging with internal strategic partners to ensure the successful delivery of business value.
A successful candidate will bring deep technical and software expertise, strong business acumen and judgment. You will use your ability to define visionary, ground breaking products, hire and lead teams, and demonstrate an ability to work within a fast-moving environment to rapidly deliver services that have broad business impact. This position within the eCommerce Foundations team represents a rare opportunity to influence the relationship between Amazon.com and all of its customers. You will help shape the technology, product, and the business in terms of Privacy solutions for customers, builders, the business, and legal.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Product Lifecycle Management process and technology, as well as possess interpersonal skills at all levels of a partner-based organization. The ideal candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges. Other responsibilities include:
Serve as a key member of the SDO Privacy team, helping to ensure success in deploying enterprise-level privacy applications and processes
Design scalable systems solutions to support our product development process and supply chain functions
Provide guidance to develop the privacy application strategy and project roadmap
Define integrations, customizations, and configurations to achieve business objectives and increase operational efficiencies
Scope each project, with attention towards clear and well-defined objectives and success criteria with measurable business value
Identify appropriate technology to support customer needs and translate into functional requirements and process designs
Facilitate workshops, develop solutions, and build consensus across all stakeholders to ensure timely and successful delivery of business value
Establish best practices for applications and services to promote and leverage common solutions and unified data sources
Participate in critical problem solving and advanced troubleshooting to assist the organization

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
7+ years of relevant experience
5+ years experience in architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise applications
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Solutions Architect certification
Strong communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills as well as strong organization skills
Experience implementing privacy solutions
Experience in product development, process design, documentation, and training
Experience with GDPR, CCPA, or other privacy regulations

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $146,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $284,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
