Principal Software Test Engineer for Stryker Corporation to lead or mentor a technical team in the design and development of components, sub-systems, and systems. Apply and mentor others on advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts across various products. Assess and integrate new technologies and capabilities, including prototyping and testing. Mentor and influence the correction of complex product design issues. Navigate and influence the intellectual landscape for filings and protection. Translate user needs into design inputs and specifications, produce system and architectural level layouts and platform designs. Develop and influence a number of invention disclosures, patents, or trade secrets. Lead architecture development of a complex system and guide design tradeoff decisions. Generate and review the necessary documents with project teams, including requirements, design, architecture, bugs, and testing. Utilize in-depth knowledge of the industry and competitive landscape to partner with customers and internal and external key opinion leaders to develop technical strategies that meet clinical needs. Strategize and execute customer-facing activities like Voice Of Customer (VOC) and customer centric design across the business. Collaborate on financial, business modeling, and business reviews to validate technical approaches to medical device compliance. Act as divisional expert with extensive experience applying industry standards in device development. Act as independent reviewer and advisor for the creation or refinement of engineering documentation, such as the Design History file. Lead the development of standards and regulations. Lead cooperative efforts with Research and Development (R&D), Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management to ensure project success. Lead and support team members to create and improve procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology requirements. Develop and utilize tools to enhance the company's product and process development or performance. Mentor and grow technical talent within discipline and function. Lead and support complex product development across functional teams, influencing multiple technical areas of expertise. Ensure team delivers high quality results that meet business priorities. Identify and implement design and process solutions and ensure they are sustained over time. Lead code reviews for projects and systems, including applying design principals, coding standards, and best practices. Requires: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or an Engineering field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus eight (8) years of experience a regulated industry software engineering role performing at least one of the following: software testing, software quality, and/or software development or, alternatively, a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or an Engineering field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and six (6) years of experience a regulated industry software engineering role performing at least one of the following: software testing, software quality, and/or software development. 10% domestic travel.
