Job Description

　　The Oracle private cloud appliance (PCA) is an on premise cloud appliance. The PCA hypervisor team develops embedded server and management components in a fast-paced work environment. The team is responsible for the x86 based hypervisor, kernel, hypervisor management stack and agent interface which is accessed by the compute management software. This includes management of virtual machines and of all the physical resources owned by the server.

　　The team works closely with the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) API to integrate PCA functionality with OCI. Additionally, the team works with internal and external PCA customers to provide world class functionality.

　　Detailed Description

　　As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

　　Job Requirements

　　Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical skills in area of specialization as leading contributor individually and as a team member.

　　BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Minimum 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

　　Responsibilities

　　Additional Details:

　　Experience with Linux or similar operating systems.

　　Strong proficiency with C, Python, and shell is a requirement.

　　Familiarity with Cloud Computing concepts is preferred (Instance Launch APIs, Instance Metadata, etc.).

　　KVM, Xen hypervisor technology experience is preferred.

　　Practical, hands-on experience with Kubernetes to manage docker containers

　　Practical, hands-on experience with network and storage host adapter configuration.

　　Intel / AMD platform feature is highly recommended.

　　Excellent communication and documentation skills are necessary.

　　US: Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

　　Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
