　　Palo Alto Networks runs a large infrastructure and is one of the largest GCP customers. As a Site Reliability Engineer for the Cortex Data Lake team, you will be part of a team supporting the services running on this infrastructure. This includes automation, architecture, performance, observability, troubleshooting, security, and reliability.

　　Our Infrastructure Platform stack includes Terraform, Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD, GitOps, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Docker, GCP, AWS, Vault, Kafka, MySQL, Python, Bash, and Go.

　　8+ years as a engineer in Infrastructure, Operations, DevOps, or System Engineering5+ years building high availability, scalable cloud native applications on AWS or GCPBS or MS in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent professional experienceExpertise in configuration management with a framework such as Ansible, Terraform, HelmExperience in Site Reliability Engineering, Production Engineering, or DevOpsExpertise in public or private cloudSolid experience in Kubernetes and containersLinux administration, internals, and network troubleshootingProficiency with programming languages like Python, Java, Golang, and shell scripting to automate tasksFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines, GitLab and GitHub preferredAbility to diagnose and troubleshoot complex distributed systems handling high volume transactionsExcellent written and verbal communication, able to collaborate and rally supportSelf-disciplined, self-managed, self-motivated and strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drivePassion for infrastructure and monitoring as codeReady to understand and dissect new technology stacks quickly

　　Drawing on the near real-time data collected through PAN-OS device telemetry, our Cortex Data Lake product ingests hundreds of TB in data per day. This high scale environment has exciting challenges in networking, data processing, and overall system design. Our goal is to store and deliver data to both internal customers in a timely and relevant fashion. We strive to help our customers detect and mitigate security impacting events on a 24/7/365 basis with low latency and downtime.

　　The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $143,600/yr to $230,650/yr.
