Job Description
About the role:
Takeda operates the Los Angeles Site which performs fractionation and purification of human plasma to safely produce quality therapies that save and sustain lives. The facility has evolved over the last six decades through expansions, upgrades and increases in output. To maintain a reliable supply of therapies for patients, Takeda manages projects to improve manufacturing and auxiliary processes. These projects are implemented locally at the Los Angeles Site and globally throughout the Takeda Global Manufacturing Science (GMS) organization.
The Project Manager, Capital Engineering is accountable for all business aspects of project performance relating to Capital Projects at the Los Angeles site including execution of project activities, managing project resources, overseeing financial performance, and being liaison for senior management, R&D and other partners. You will provide input to the program prioritization process and participates in other main strategic portfolio processes to ensure funding for the objective. Project managers make launch date commitments and cash flow forecasts based on requirements and stakeholder expectations.
How you will contribute:
Use the Project Lifecycle Management (PLM) Process to implement capital projects at the LA Site from start to finish.
Participate in project costing and bid preparation to the extent required.
Review assigned project(s) and collaborates with system owners and functional partners to define project scope, determine work procedures/sequences, and develop schedule, budgets, and resources; to ensure business needs are met
Form a project work team and see that responsibilities are assigned, and that execution of tasks are initiated and completed on time, according to project schedules.
Holds scheduled project progress review and stockholder update meetings to ensure that:
Required procedures and specifications are met.
Cost overruns and schedule delays are avoided/mitigated.
Resources, equipment and materials and quality problems are recognized for intervention and resolution.
Provide oversight of external design consultants, construction entities, and project support personnel.
Anticipate and resolve conflict situations to ensure win-win outcomes.
Must be willing to work evenings and weekends,, to oversee project activities.
Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement of Capital Project Management and PMO business processes.
Will work in construction area/environment wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
What you bring to Takeda:
Typically requires bachelor's degree, preferably in science, engineering or other related technical field. 7+ years of related experience with 2+ years in a management role.
PMI certification preferred.
Minimum 7+ years of project management experience required, preferably with experience in GMP construction in pharmaceutical environment.
Construction Administration and/or Architectural experience is a plus.
Experience in FDA regulated environment preferred.
Experience with GDP construction is preferred.Must be well versed in Project Management tools and must possess knowledge of related disciplines. Must have knowledge of such principles as GMPs, FDA guidelines and purchasing practices. Experience with commissioning and validation concepts, procedures, protocols, and requirements to support GMP. Understanding of Critical Systems, facilities, and logistics process and project implementation experience a definite plus

May be around moving equipment and machinery.
May work in a confined area.
Some clean room and cool/hot storage conditions.

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. You may:
Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
Work in a cold, wet environment.
Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours,.
Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.

Base Salary Range: $130,200 - $186,000. Employees may also be eligible for Short Term and Long-Term Incentive benefits. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off.
The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
