Job Description & Responsibilities
We are looking for a Principal Hardware Engineer who will be responsible for leading research and development of new products, leading improvements existing products and overall systems solutions. This role will play a critical role developing Wave Relay Product solutions with our DOD customers. The Principal Hardware Engineer will identify customer needs through face to face interaction and play a critical role in developing the product solution. This individual will operate out of our New York City headquarters and manage projects involving a variety of functions.
Position ResponsibilitiesManaging, deriving, and capturing Product/Program requirements including mechanical and electrical interface design specifications, component requirements, and functional block diagramsSupporting software and hardware testingSupporting and facilitating engineering projects including new product/solution development, product changes, and customer integrationSupporting the change management process to ensure all required actions have been completed and that communication to key stakeholders is maintainedEnsuring quality documentation is updated/created as required, including technical manualsProviding support and delivering solutions for rapid development projectsModifying and updating requirements documentsCoordinating preparation of design drawings including updatesSupporting and facilitating project scheduling
Job Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related fieldAt least 7 years working as a Hardware Design Engineer demonstrating powerful design thinking in both interaction and experience designAt least 3 years of experience in RF engineeringDefense Project Management Experience interfacing directly with customers for networking architecture solutions and product integration solutionsProduct Development experience Experience with complex systems development, evaluation and requirements captureExperience with electrical and mechanical interface requirementsExperience in risk analysis and progress reportingMust be willing to travel up to 50% of the timeMust have a United States security clearance or the ability to obtain a United States security clearance Preferred Qualifications
10 years of systems engineering and networking experienceExperience with Embedded LinuxKnowledge of audio/video encoder/decoders and interfacesExperience in electromagnetic capability (EMC) testing and designKnowledge of military certification/qualification testingExperience with enclosure/packaging design for hardware
The base pay for this role can vary from $180, 000 to $200, 000 a year based on individual qualifications. Eligibility for yearly discretionary bonus.
