　　As a Back End Engineer, you’ll analyze, develop, and design solutions for our application software. In our Agile environment, you’ll do this by performing technical design, coding with test automation, support, and documentation of software application modifications. Ultimately, through continuous integration, development and testing, you’ll ensure we deliver quality code. Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

　　Responsibilities

　　Creates solutions addressing high impact technology and business priorities

　　Competent in multiple contexts, including programming languages, security, automation, testing, and business domains and is the go-to person for many people (inside and outside of their team)

　　Participates in strategic technology decisions and learns how these decisions impact Discover as a whole

　　Proactively identifies and mitigates issues based on intuition and experience in multiple domains

　　Coaches' technology communities at Discover

　　Minimum Qualifications

　　At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

　　Bachelors – Computer Science or related

　　6+ Years -- Information Technology, (Software) Engineering, or related

　　Internal applicants only: technical proficiency rating of proficient on the Dreyfus engineering scale

　　Preferred Qualifications

　　Bonus Points If You Have:

　　Proficiency in Ab-Initio software such as Graphical Development Environment (GDE) and Co-Operating System (Co>Op)

　　Strong experience in Ab-Initio components, developing Ab-Initio Continuous Flow (CF) graphs, and using the Enterprise Meta>Environment (EME)

　　Understanding of Business Rules Environment (BRE), Testing Framework (TF), and of Indexed Compressed Flat Files (ICFF)

　　Some familiarity working with Oracle tables (loading and querying), and scheduling tools Maestro/Autosys

　　Understanding of Ab-Initio Express>It (E>It) and its templates.

　　Experience in Unix shell scripting

　　The base pay for this position generally ranges between $104,000.00 to $175,600.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
