Follow all company Safe Job Procedures and standard practices: Remove,Patch and replace bricks and refractory work on furnace, ladles,tundishes, and other equipment. Perform general labor duties asdirected. Manually record data and other information required forstudies, projects, and other directives. Maintain adequate supply of allmaterials in the ladle and tundish build up areas. Maintain a safe andclean work environment and store materials in proper locations. Performsstocking, and pre-staging of all materials, fluxes, and alloys used inthe EAF, Caster, and LMF processes. Unloads trucks and rail cars. Inputrequired information into computer system. Operate remote controlledcranes, remote control boxes and pendant controls for remote and pendantoperated equipment. Operate tractors as required Hook/unhook loads fromcranes. Perform inventories, complete inventory reports, receivematerials, sign receiving documents. Assist maintenance to maintainand/or repair primary department equipment including assisting withtools and equipment and retrieving parts and tools. Perform basicequipment maintenance May be assigned work as required in other areas ofSterling Steel Must be able to use tools including but not limited tothe following: Shovels, brooms, various cables, slings, chains, mobileequipment, skid-loaders, man-lifts, forklifts, pole tractors,pay-loaders, cranes, mobile cranes, and remote cranes, remote controlboxes and pendant controls for remote and pendant operated equipment,computer systems, wrenches and other maintenance tools, pry bars,lancing Oxy-fuel torches, and any other tools to perform assignedwork. ALL SSC EMPLOYEES ARE EXPECTED TO: Initiate action to prevent theoccurrence of any nonconformity related to product, process, and thesystem. Identify and record any problems relating to the product,process and the quality system. Initiate, recommend or provide solutionsthrough designated channels. Verify the implementation of solutions.Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconformingproduct until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has beencorrected.
