  Position Summary: Performs essential business duties for the surgical department to ensure sound fiscal management and high‐quality patient care. Oversees planning and organizing of resources, cost initiatives and business activities for Corning surgical services department. Responsible for peri‐operative information system including scheduling, data collection, reporting and inventory. Actively communicates with clinicians, interdepartmental staff, and management. Education, License & Cert: High School Grad or Equivalent Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience in inventory management. Essential Functions: 1. Establish and maintain database files ensuring consistency and integrity. 2. Assist team leaders in maintaining their Preference Lists, executing trials; identifying acceptable substitutes for backordered or discontinued items and follow‐up on product recalls. 3. Maintain the integrity of the item file, establish par levels, and committed volumes. 4. Oversee accurate inventory control system for the Operating Room; execute quarterly cycle counts with team leaders; reconcile discrepancies and educate and consult key users of all entities. 5. Assumes responsibility for inventory to include reviewing and researching inventory balances reorder theories, bin locations, and cycle counts as to their impact on the overall inventory. 6. Collaborates with CPD on process flow and inventory management. 7. Monitor savings and report; assist with capital and cost analysis; review for vendor contract compliance. Project expected savings or additional cost per procedure. 8. Oversees special orders; review all invoices for capital purchases, service agreements and blanket orders, authorizing payment. Reconcile discrepancies in MINVAUTH. 9. Responsible for property control for OR supplies and equipment; workflow processes of ORBIT Assistant and OR Schedulers in charge and data entry. 10. Collaborate with vendors to establish consignment inventories and managing stock levels, reconciling quarterly.
