Position SummaryHourly rate $24.24 -27.23 upon meeting the requirements.

This position will identify and perform tasks necessary for basic preventive maintenance on a variety of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural systems. Lubricate, repair, and service the above equipment. Change filters, belts, seals, bearings, etc. Replace light bulbs, fuses, ballasts, and make minor electrical switch repairs and replacements. Erect and work from ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, boom trucks and similar devices. Requisition materials and parts. Stock, maintain, and operate a service vehicle. Interpret blueprints, diagrams, sketches and job specifications. Estimate time and materials to be used on the job. Prepare records and service reports of job time and materials expended. Unit Specific Education/Experience/SkillsCompletion of high school education or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.One year of experience in building maintenance or construction or in automotive maintenance.Casual knowledge of methods, materials, tools, equipment, occupational hazards, and safety precautions of basic skilled trades work.Casual knowledge of applicable building codes, rules, and regulations (local, state and federal).Possession of a valid vehicle operator's license is necessary.Must furnish own tools.Frequent lifting of 26 to 75 pounds and occasional lifting of over 75 pounds.Desired QualificationsExperience with changing belts, filters, seals, bearings, etc.; knowledge of lighting maintenance (bulbs, fuses, ballasts); experience reading blue prints; knowledge of HVAC systems; knowledge of electrical systems; experience with Microsoft Office 365 products, ability to use the Internet to look up parts for various pieces of equipment, experience in customer contact, ability to work well in a team setting, ability to interact with building occupants provide an outstanding Spartan Experience (customer service), ability to estimate materials to be used on the job.

Work HoursNON-STANDARD WORK HOURS: Monday through Friday second shift 4:30pm to 1:00am and may require after-hours, weekend and holiday work.
