Rural Resources Community Action is looking for a Prevention and Education Specialist. This position is full- time with benefits and located at our Colville, WA office (Stevens County). As a Prevention and Education Specialist, you will assist the Program Manager in developing and implementing primary prevention programs to a wide variety of audiences, including children, youth, and families, to promote social change. This position also plans, coordinates, and implements community-based education campaigns and skill-building training to increase community capacity to respond to violence and support survivors.
A Prevention and Education Specialist will need knowledge of best-practice education and teaching concepts, including ability to provide education to a variety of audiences and ages, impact of crimes and trauma on victims, and crisis intervention/counseling principles and practices. The qualities we are looking for include the ability to demonstrated ability/experience utilizing training materials, lesson plans and curriculums, to teach and/or provide training, to conduct effective public speaking and group presentations, willingness to work flexible hours including nights and weekends, and maintain client confidentiality. The ideal candidate will manage time effectively and be organized, set limits and maintain healthy boundaries, and conduct themselves in a professional demeanor.
Must have compassion for those harmed by abuse, violence, or other crimes; passion to advocate for the legal rights of victims.
To apply for this position, you would need a bachelor's degree in social work, education or related field; acceptable completion of 40-hour pre-service victim services training; demonstrated experience working in a social services field; demonstrated experience teaching or training. Or Any combination of education and experience which would provide the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the job.

The hiring range for this role is $21.65 -- $23.42per hour. The full salary range of $ 21.65 -- 36.06 per hour represents the low and high end of the total salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to experience & qualifications. After the successful completion of our six-month training period, you will receive a 4% step increase. As a regular employee, you may receive an additional 4% step increase on your annual anniversary with RRCA.
