About This Role:
This position exists to provide operating and maintenance support in thePower Plant operation in order to fulfill its mission of providinguninterrupted utility service to the campus. Schedule is 7:30 am to 4:00pm M-F for Maintenance with Shift rotation on Saturday\'s and Sunday\'sto include midnight to 8 am, 4 pm to midnight. Shifts run Sunday toSunday.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate a high-pressure steam plant to supply steam to campussystems, chiller plant, and auxiliary systems, by proper control ofboilers and associated support equipment. Operate water, oil,high-pressure gas, and high voltage electrical systems. Monitorgauges, alarms, and charts; maintain operating log sheets, interpretchanges, and make adjustments to steam volume controls; energizepower supply, amperage, fuel supply, volume controls, pressurecontrols, combustion air controls, city water pumps, feed waterpumps, transfer pumps, oil pumps, chemical feed pumps, watersofteners, emergency generator, air compressors, air dryers,pneumatic controls, electronic controls, and all related equipmentrequired.Maintain a high pressure steam plant and systems by troubleshootingand making upgrades and repairs to plumbing, valves, and piping tosteam, chilled water, and chemical systems.Maintain campus boilers, hot water systems, chilled water systems,condensate systems, cooling towers, emergency generators andchemical feed systems by upgrading, replacing, and repairing ofvalves, check valves, steam traps, steel piping, copper piping,plastic piping, boilers, feed pumps, condensate pumps, chemicalpumps, hot and chilled water circulating pumps, cooling towerchemical feed systems, and boiler chemical feed systems.Test and Treat boiler and cooling tower water and hot and coldsystem for the campus and Power Plant.Repair or replace steam, condensate, and natural gas mains andbranches by using cutting torches and arc/mig welding machines.We Support Diversity and Inclusion:

What You\'ll Need to Succeed:
Minimum Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma and three years of relevantexperience. Education may be substituted for experience asdetermined relevant by a hiring manager.Preferred Qualifications:
Certified welder with 2 years experience in pipe welding.Prefer skill in the use of tools and the operation of machines andequipment commonly used in preventive maintenance and repair work.Other Requirements:
