SUMMARY:

　　This is the entry level training position for the power engineering technologist design function off premise classifications. The purpose of this position is to develop an inexperienced candidate to accurately evaluate options and design safe, cost effective, and reliable distribution facilities for residential, area lighting, basic facilities and/or simple maintenance projects. Incumbents are expected to be able to be trained to develop basic skills and expertise in power distribution design and technical tasks. Incumbent is expected to develop sufficient skills to advance to Power Engineering Technologist I or similar position.

　　ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

　　Under direct supervision and assistance, the incumbent will be responsible to perform the following duties:

　　Learn, practice and promote ALL safety policies and procedures 100% of the time.Learn client and/or company policies and procedures for the development of site designs for electrical distribution facilities to serve a variety of customer needs.Learn and be trained to prepare site drawings and construction sketches for various installations of electrical facilities in a cost-effective manner that maximizes safety and service reliabilityLearn and be trained to prepare job packages including material estimates and material requisitions of the materials required for the prepared distribution electrical designs.Learn and be trained to evaluate loading of various equipment components being installed such as transformation or fusing to ensure a cost-effective, safe, and reliable design.Learn and be trained to maintain accurate records and files and update the appropriate client systems with accurate data entry.Supports both company and client's business goals and expectations while representing themselves positively and professionally.Perform other duties as assigned by management.COMPLEXITY OF WORK:

　　Incumbent will be involved in extensive on-the-job training and shadowing of more experienced employees to develop required skills and expertise.

　　LANGUAGE SKILLS:

　　Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret spread sheets.Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.REASONING ABILITY:
