  Job Title: Powder Coat Painter

  Reports to: Powder Manager

  Summary

  Sprays powder paint on surfaces of manufactured products, such asmachinery frames, tanks, custom

  jobs, material handling components like, but not limited to, gates,valves, ladders, cages, probes,

  distributors, elbows, flanges, feeders, spouts, grates, loading systems,bucket elevators, drag conveyors,

  and various customer supplied parts by performing the following duties.

  Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to completeeach essential duty

  satisfactorily. (Other duties may be assigned by the Manager.)

  - Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated.

  - Notifies supervisor of cavities, dents, and other defects for repair.

  - Selects powder per work order or supervisor instruction.

  - Attaches powder paint to fluidizing container and connects gun to airsupply.

  - Selects reclaim or non-reclaim powder paint process.

  - Turns sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate width and pressure ofpowder.

  - Pulls trigger and directs powder spray onto work surface to applyfinish coat.

  - Modifies electrostatic voltage on paint gun as required for properpowder coverage.

  - Utilizes infrared preheat option by visually gauging part geometryand thickness.

  - Cleans powder booth and spraying equipment after job and engages incolor change preparation

  for the next job.

  - Evaluates parts exiting oven for proper mill thickness and verifiespart quality.

  - Assembles parts by bolting and riveting.

  - Repairs products by dismantling, straightening and reassemblingparts.

  - Keeps work area clean and free of dirt, debris, powder and othercontaminants.

  - Cross trains and works on the load-upload line as required.

  - Works at different work stations as production needs require.

  - Produce finished product within acceptable time standard and inconformance to company

  quality requirements.

  Qualifications

  The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge,skill, and/or ability required.

  ? Education and/or Experience

  High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to threeyears related experience

  and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  ? Language Skills

  Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, shortcorrespondence, and memos. Ability

  to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively presentinformation in one-on-one and

  small group situations.

  ? Mathematical Skills

  Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure,using whole numbers,

  common fractions and decimals.

  ? Reasoning Ability

  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructionsfurnished in written, oral,

  or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving severalconcrete variables in

  standardized situations.
