  The Neuroscience Discovery department within our company's Research Labs (West Point, PA) is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow with expertise in cellular and molecular biology, protein biochemistry, lysosome biology and a strong interest in Neuroscience drug discovery. The successful candidate will use a combination of molecular and cell biological techniques to study the molecular mechanisms of lysosomal function under physiological and pathophysiological conditions of neurodegeneration, to increase understanding of the disease processes for Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and ALS.

  The postdoctoral fellow will work in close collaboration with cell biologists, neuroscientists, geneticists, electrophysiologists, and chemists, across our company's network to execute a research project with the goal of publishing the results in peer-reviewed journals.

  Position Qualifications :

  Education Minimum Requirement:

  Candidates must currently hold a PhD or will you have completed your PhD within the next year in Neuroscience, molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or genetics.Required Experience and Skills:

  Minimum of 3 -year cell culture experience with immortalized mammalian, primary, or iPSC-derived cells

  Manipulation of gene-expression via siRNA and viral mediated transduction

  In-depth skills to run biochemical and molecular assays (Western blotting, qPCR, ELISA, Immunoprecipitation, and qPCR)

  Experience in imaging (immunocytochemistry, confocal imaging, or high content imaging)

  Expertise in and knowledge of neurobiology in the context of neurodegeneration

  Excellent communication skills (written, presentation, and oral)

  Ability to work in team settings in a highly collaborative environment.

  Ability to work effectively and flexibly within timelines on multifaceted projects.

  Demonstrated ability to prepare peer-reviewed publications.

  No more than 1 year of post-doctoral experience

  Preferred Experience and Skills:

  Demonstrated skill sets and experience in for studying lysosome or mitochondrial biology in the context of neurodegeneration.

  Co-culture of neuron and glia

  Responsibilities include:

  Generation and culture of immortalized, primary, and iPSC-derived cell lines

  Develop and validate imaging and biochemical assays in multi-well format.

  Design, conduct, and analyze transcriptomics, proteomics, lipodomics experiments.

  Sharing scientific progress in regular internal team meetings and external scientific conferences

  Write and submit publications to peer-reviewed journals.

  U.S. Hybrid Work Model
