Position Summary A postdoctoralposition is available at NIH-funded lab to study the mechanism ofpulmonary thrombosis in SICKLE CELL DISEASE. The lab is interested instudying the role of thrombosis in promoting lung injury in Sickle CellDisease. The prospective candidate will have the opportunity to learnstate-of-the-art techniques such as Multi-Photon-Excitation intravitalmicroscopy of the lung and other organs in live mice,ex vivomicrofluidicplatform studies with human blood, proteomics and transcriptomics,isolation/characterization of extracellular vesicles in plasma and othermolecular biology and biochemistry techniques. Previous experience instudying thrombosis, coagulation or neutrophil/platelet biology ishighly preferred. Experience in mice surgery or intravital microscopy,microfluidic platforms and strong background in platelet biology,coagulation and thrombosis is highly preferred. Our labs are located inthe Versiti Blood Research Institute (VBRI) of the Blood Center ofWisconsin and the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
