Work will include optimizing Programmable Transcription Factors and implementing Genome Engineering Workflows, and analyzing seed oil composition. Essential and Other Functions: (35%) Molecular biology and gene expression: The applicant will optimize programmable transcription factors in a higher eukaryotic host. (35%) Genome engineering: The applicant will use CRISPR/Cas9 tools to engineer the genome of the higher eukaryotic host (30%) Prepare manuscripts: The applicant will collect and interpret data collected using the above methods and write related manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals. Qualifications Essential Qualifications Applicants require a Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, plant engineering, or related discipline. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with DNA sequence analysis, recombinant DNA technology, hands-on experience with molecular cloning methods and programming in Python, Java, C++, or similar language.
