We invite applications for a postdoctoral research position to study the impact of climate change on the hydrological cycle and water resources in East Africa. Candidates should have primary background and interest in using stable isotopes of water as a tracer to study various aspects of the dynamics of the hydrological cycle such as atmospheric circulation and moisture sources of precipitation, surface and ground water interactions, and how climate change affects these aspects of the hydrological cycle. A successful candidate should have an emerging record of scholarly excellence and will be expected to work independently in ongoing research in the above-mentioned areas. This position provides an opportunity to grow your skillset and also allows you to learn and apply new skills and unique methods to study the impact of climate change on the hydrological cycle. The appointment will be for 10 months, with continuation pending future funding and progress. The position is eligible for benefits. 　　Minimum Qualifications

　　• Ph.D. in Earth or Environmental sciences (e.g., geology, geography, geosciences) at the time of application.• Candidate must have experience working with stable isotopes of water.• Candidate must have experience in GIS and a programming language such as R or Python.• Publications in peer-reviewed journals.

　　Preferred Qualifications

　　While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

　　• Ability to use HYSPLIT or a similar program in computing air trajectories• Experience in using/analyzing climate data.• Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.• Record of publication as lead author in a high-impact top-tier journal.• Experience in writing or contributing to successful research proposals.
