The Trainee will eventually demonstrate competence defined (*) as providing age-appropriate care and service to patients from the age of birth to 21-years, and selected adult patients. The Trainee will be eligible for consideration for promotion to EEG technician I after 1 year experience working in Neurodiagnostics and demonstrate competence in core duties and responsibilities.Schedule: Hours and days will vary during the training period of 90 days. After the training period this is a 13 hour nightshift Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A Place to Be Proud.ResponsibilitiesFollowing established Policies and Procedures the incumbent will learn to perform a limited variety of investigational procedures on patients with possible neurologic injury and disease. These procedures include:Routine video EEGExtended video EEGPortable video EEGPortable Extended video EEGLong Term Epilepsy Monitoring (EMU/LTM)As the technologist gains more knowledge additional procedures may be added on an individual basis. Specific tests may require the application of non-routine recording parameters. These tests may employ special recording techniques to record eye movements, muscle activity, ECG, chest wall movement, tongue movements, and nasal and oral air flow, among others.
