We are seeking a Plant Safety Manager to join our newly established Pre-Fabrication Warehouse in the Jacksonville, NC area. The Plant Safety Manager will be responsible for the development and management of safety compliance initiatives for the Prefabrication and Manufacturing Warehouse in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local safety regulations.
This position will create, coordinate, and teach classroom and practical safety training sessions for new and existing employees coming into the manufacturing facility, as well as maintain all safety training records. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in creating and implementing effective safety programs including assembly line protocols in a manufacturing setting.
A critical component of this role is to aid in building and maintaining a Safety Culture within the facility that promotes and continuously achieves the RQ vision of reducing costs, decreasing cycle time, and improving quality, to grow RQ's Market's, people, and capabilities in support of RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
A HS Diploma/GED is the minimum required education.A combination of equivalent work experience, training in the field, and/or Occupational Safety and Health certificate programs through the OSHA Training Institutes or other nationally recognized safety training organization (whether certificates or degree programs), professional certifications such as CSP, CHST, OHST, and ASP through BCSP may be qualifying.Five or more years applied work experience (or equivalent) in commercial manufacturing and/or General Industry safety required, with five or more years' experience (or equivalent) in safety management at the plant/facility/warehouse level.Competent person training or experience in Fall Protection, Hot Work, Lock out Tag Out, PPE required.
