Job Summary:
As a PIV Credentialing Specialist, you will issue, track, replace and verify identity badges and credentials to maintain access control of the Federal facility for a Federal office that contributes to our national security by adjudicating DoD security clearances. As part of the Government Agency PIV Office and Credential Unit, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the physical security of the building, ensuring that entry badges to the Federal building, as well as government PIV cards and credentials, are issued, created, tracked, monitored and managed, according to DoD personnel security protocols.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Responsible for employee verification and distribution of Personal Identification & Verification (PIV) cards for the USAccess Federal Identification program.
Performs support functions and assists in the planning, scheduling, and conducting of security activities, such as overseeing the issuance, accountability, and destruction of the building access cards for access to the Government Agency’s Headquarters.
Responsible for updating and maintaining databases and inventory control of building access cards; maintains appointment schedules and activates building access cards.
Serve as a point of contact for the Government Agency field divisions, key HQ components, Task Force Officers, Special Agents and the Government Agency staff personnel requesting Credentials. Ensures visual examination of all documentation, input of vital data & statistics and ensures all credentialing policies are applied in the issuance of all Government Agency’s identification.
Coordinate with managers from Headquarters and Field Offices, requests issuance of the Government Agency Identification credentials, including Administrative & Core Series credentials for new employees, the replacement of lost/stolen/damaged credentials and the issuance of retired credentials.
Research guidelines and identifies the general policies and procedures to identify solutions to issues. Assists with existing security procedures/policies and is able to respond to security-related incidents involving access control.
Operate office equipment such as optical character readers (scanners), photocopiers, facsimiles, and personal computers.
Provide additional administrative duties to include but not limited to, assisting visitors/guests, conducting proper sign-in procedures, answering phones, distributing FedEx packages and other related security administrative duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Active Secret Clearance or higher.
Must have previous experience with C-CURE 9000 access control system, or similar access control system.
3-5 years of direct experience as a Physical Security Specialist, Security Clerk or Security Assistant.
Experience with HSPD-12/PIV cards and USAccess, or similar, software in enrolling, activating and updating PIV cards.
Experience in issuing government identification.
High School diploma. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
Applicants must be a US citizen.
Additional Qualifications:
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Knowledge of access control systems and PIV card management for access to Federal buildings.
Familiarity with DoD Personnel Security process
Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
