　　The University of Chicago\'s Department of Pediatrics invitesphysician-scientists to apply for tenured or tenure-track facultypositions. We especially welcome candidates with a focus on genetics,genomics, immunology, or neuroscience. We also welcome candidates with afocus linking fundamental discovery in mammalian developmental biologyof relevance to Pediatric diseases. Appointees will join a collegialdepartment with a history of important contributions to basic,translational, and clinical research. Additional responsibilities willinclude teaching students (undergraduate, graduate, medical) and/orhouse staff and fellows, and clinical service commensurate with theindividual\'s qualifications and interests. Leadership opportunities areavailable for highly experienced applicants. Academic rank andcompensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) aredependent upon qualifications.

　　Appointees will join a vibrant center of scientific discovery andinnovation, and opportunities for multidisciplinary collaboration areabundant, both within and outside the Biological Sciences Division. TheBiological Sciences Division, other academic units of the University ofChicago, and UChicago Medicine, are all contained within one compactcampus in Chicago\'s Hyde Park. Appointees will have access tooutstanding colleagues and graduate students affiliated with numerousdegree-granting programs within and outside the Biological SciencesDivision and to state-of-the-art core facilities. The potential forinteractions with our affiliates, the Argonne National Laboratory andthe Marine Biological Laboratory will be available. The primaryappointments will be in the Department of Pediatrics although weanticipate that the appointees will develop close interactions withother departments, divisions, and institutes at the University ofChicago.

　　Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must 1) have amedical or medical and doctoral degree (MD or MD/PhD) and 2) be BoardCertified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics.
