SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Department of Orthopaedics is looking to add a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to their Division of Orthopaedic Spine surgery. The PA or NP will provider diagnostic, therapeutic and preventative health care services for the Spine patient. Within the outpatient care team, the PA/NP will take histories, perform examinations, order and interpret tests and radiologic studies, and develop both a diagnosis and treatment plan. Office-based care will include evaluation and management of patients as well as office-procedures such as injections, wound care, suture removal, cast and dressing changes. On the job orientation and training will be provided in building these skills. The PA/NP will see patients independently and in conjunction with our orthopaedics Spine Surgeons. Currently, no call or weekend hours are required.
Ideal candidates will have a background in orthopaedics/neurosurgery/pain management or rehabilitation. Will also consider those with strong family practice background with a special interest in orthopaedics or spine health.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program or baccalaureate or higher degree program that meets licensure requirements in the State of Pennsylvania required.
National Certification in Pennsylvania or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice in Pennsylvania required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
