The View Alexandria by Goodwin Living (formerly Hermitage Northern Virginia) is part of our Goodwin Rehabilitation , a service line of Goodwin Living that provides in-house therapy services. About the Position:
The View Alexandria is currently seeking a Full-Time Physical Therapist (PT). In this position, you will work with our dynamic and passionate team. At The View, the PT develops and implements the safe delivery of high-quality therapy services to seniors. The PT is a vital part of an interdisciplinary team that strives to ensure older adults can live their best lives.
Duties:
Provides Physical Therapy treatments to overcome specific losses of function due to disease and injury, under an Physical Therapist’s Plan of Care, and as dictated by the Commonwealth of Virginia Occupational Therapy Practice Act
Effectively communicates to clarify the Plan of Care, relay resident’s progress with treatment, report any adverse effects of treatment, report medical decline or inability to follow through with recommended treatments, and offers suggestions to alter and progress the Plan of Care based on knowledge and experience with that particular resident
Documents treatments/services according to the Rehab Department’s protocols and Medicare guidelines
Coordinates resident’s treatment with nursing staff, physical and speech therapists
Job Requirements
Degree in Physical Therapy from an APTA approved and accredited college or university
Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the Commonwealth of Virginia
CPR certification (adult only)
Has the ability to move intermittently throughout the workday, lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc. up to 50 lbs. getting assistance when needed is a must
