JOB PURPOSE:
The Physical Therapist Assistant performs such patient-related activities as are assigned and supervised by a licensed Physical Therapist and/or designee manager.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs patient-related activities such as direct patient treatment and group exercises as assigned at the PACE site or in the field (ie. Participant’s home, nursing homes, etc.).
Executes pre-planned treatment programs, such as therapeutic exercise, massage, electrotherapy, hydrotherapy, range of motion, and other pre-planned treatment programs as designed by a Physical Therapist.
Documents all statistical data as required.
Documents all pertinent patient information as required.
Consults with a physiatrist, physical therapist, and other professionals when appropriate.
Maintain a high standard of health care and clinical practice through attendance at professional seminars and continuing education courses.
Maintain a safe, clean environment following safety protocols.
Participate as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team in developing a patient care plan.
Participates in scheduled meetings including rehab meetings, staff meetings, and inter-disciplinary meetings.
Participates in clinical education of student affiliates.
Reports pertinent information to Rehab Manager regarding orthotic and prosthetic adaptations.
Participates in obtaining equipment for patients’ home use.
Maintenance of supplies, equipment, and assistive devices.
Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area and department.
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Associate Degree from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant program plus certification by NYS as a Physical Therapy Assistant. Experience:
None required beyond education.License Registration:
New York State Certified. Current Registration.Language: Bi-Lingual Preferred depending on region (participant demographics and location of PACE sites)
Additional Requirements:
Ability to lift and transfer participants. Ability to bend, kneel, reach, stretch, stand, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to utilize pulleys, free weights, exercise bicycles, Kinetron, treadmill, UBE, TENS, MENS, High Volt Stimulator, Ultrasound, hot packs, cold packs, and Paraffin as part of patient treatment.
Must be able to work weekends, as needed.
Ability to travel to participant’s homes, nursing home, and sites/clinics
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Professional attitude.
Proficient in the use of a computer for email, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and electronic medical records.

Salary Range (Min-Max):$66,836.73 - $80,628.32
Note: Position's wages are contingent upon terms and conditions outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.
