You will serve as a PHYSICAL SCIENTIST in the U.S. Fleet Forces Command of COMNAVMETOCCOM. Responsibilities You will coordinate and manager all Meteorology and Oceanography (METOC) operations, exercises and global force management. You will manage, coordinate and track Requests for Support (RFS), information (RFI) and Foreign Disclosure from the fleet. You will provide theories, concepts, principles, and practices of meteorology, oceanography and/or hydrography in operational and military applications. You will provide Oceanography organization structure, policies, and missions understanding of how METOC parameters affect tactical naval problems. You will provide Oceanography capabilities, products and services. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: : (1) Experience in theories, concepts, principles, and practices of meteorology, oceanography and/or hydrography in operational and military applications. (2) Experience in Oceanography organization structure, policies, and missions understanding of how METOC parameters affect tactical naval problems. (3) Experience in Oceanography capabilities, products and services. Education Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successfully completed a bachelor's degree or higher in physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics. OR A combination of education and experience with education equivalent to one of the majors shown above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
