Essential Role: This position is responsible for dispensing drugsprescribed by GraceMed Providers and providing information to patientsabout medications and their use. This position is also responsible foradvising Providers on the selection, dosage, interactions, and sideeffects of medications.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for adhering to and maintaining protocols utilized bypharmacy support staff.
Responsible for assisting with orientation and training of new pharmacyemployees and reviews assigned pharmacy support staff quality of work atthe direction of the Pharmacy Director.
Verify the legality, safety and appropriateness of prescription orders,check the patient medication record before dispensing the prescription,ensure that the quantities of medication are dispensed accurately.
Seek to collect and integrate information about the patients drughistory, clarify the patients understanding of the intended dosageregimen and method of administration, and advise the patient ofdrug-related precautions.
Compile and maintain information on all medicines, and particularly onnewly introduced medicines, provide this information as necessary to ourproviders and to patients.
Assure the timely and accurate filling of prescriptions and orders.
Serves as preceptor to pharmacy support staff, pharmacy students andextended interns.
Works closely with the providers and administrative staff to provideguidance and direction for best practices.
Provides assistance with OSHA, emergency preparedness, infection controland regulatory compliance.
Performs other appropriate duties as requested by supervisor.
Qualifications
Education/Certifications/Licenses/Registrations
A Bachelor\'s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD degree
Current State of Kansas licensure
Must not be on DEA Excluded Parties List
Experience
Previous medical office experience preferred.
Previous public health experience preferred.
Technical Skills
Must possess a thorough knowledge of modern office practices,procedures, and equipment, including computers, copiers, and otherstandard office equipment.
Ability to work independently, organize, monitor, and adjust work asnecessary to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Demonstrated ability to identify and solve problems.
Maintains appropriate licensure and certification including meetingand/or exceeding CME requirements.

Work Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00pm\' Thursday 10:00 am to 7:00 pm on a PRN basis. May require workoutside of usual business hours; including evenings or weekends, tohandle customer service or personnel issues and attend meetings and/orcommunity events.
Working Conditions:
Medical office setting. Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods oftime. Bending, stooping, and lifting (up to 50lbs.) may be required.Interaction with physicians, patients and other office personnel. Mayinvolve contact with angry, upset or ill persons. May involve potentialexposure to blood and body fluids and other hazardous substances. Musthave visual acuity and manual dexterity to interface with computer. Musthave auditory acuity to handle phone calls.
