Discover Impactful Work:
This position is within the BioServices business unit of Thermo Fisher Scientific. The ideal candidate will perform all duties of a registered pharmacist within the framework for all client projects that involve receiving, storing, handling, including labeling and secondary packaging, and distribution of pharmaceutical and controlled substances at our Rockville, Maryland Rothgeb facility.
A Day in the Life:
Responsible for the accurate dispensing and shipping of department orders for all projects.
Supervise and coordinate non-pharmacist staff as required.
Maintaining inventory control and record keeping complying with federal and state regulations.
Provide patient and client support as required.
Provide pharmacist support to operation of the FBS Commercial Services Division as warranted.
Other duties as assigned.
Keys to Success:
BS in Pharmacy or PharmD required.
2+ years’ experience overseeing pharmacy activities required.
Certificates and/ or Licenses: Registered Pharmacist in the state of Maryland required; ability to obtain out-of-state pharmacist licenses when needed.
Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
Must be focused and organized. Multi-tasking and attention to detail required.
Comprehension of all federal and multiple state regulations to include those concerning controlled substances.
Ability to communicate professionally.
Supervisory Responsibility:
Lead pharmacy operation staff (pharmacist, pharmacy technicians and non-licensed personnel) when needed.
Work Schedule:
8:00AM to 5:00PM core hours, additional hours as required.
Work Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Pharmacy operation within a warehouse
Standing, bending and/or reaching up to 6 hours per day.
Must use personal protective equipment and adhere to safety protocols.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to use a computer up to 6 hours per day.
Must be able to travel to commercial sites as needed.
