Summary DOE's Clean Energy Corps is made up of staff from more than a dozen offices across DOE. Responsibilities As a Permitting Liaison you may: Serve as a Permitting Specialist and performs work activities directly related to the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). Support the planning, organizing, and implementing of programs, projects, processes, and applications, with a focus on permitting that expands climate and clean energy actions and investments for state, local, Tribal, and Territorial governments. Support IRA efforts to streamline federal permitting of clean energy projects. Perform internal/external engagements, including stakeholder consultation, internal coordination, and task management. Explore strategies to ensure environmental considerations are factored into the decision-making process in support of Departmental initiatives. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS GS-12: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Providing support for permitting and environmental reviews for projects funded by federal appropriations and/or programs (i.e., Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Inflation Reduction Act, or similar legislation).; AND Coordinating activities with a focus on permitting to ensure consistency and compliance with environmental laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local level.; AND Analyzing environmental, sociocultural, and community impacts for energy infrastructure projects.; AND Conducting internal/external stakeholder outreach related to energy actions and investments. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations.
