Staffed by our talented team of leading professionals, The Hospital of Central Connecticut provides a wide array of services throughout the region, caring for patients from birth through the end of life. _Job Description:_ Provides clinical support to Perioperative services by maintaining assigned patient care areas in a clean, safe, therapeutic, and customer oriented manner. Performs duties and resposibilies under the direct operational supervision of a registered nurse, Periop supervisor, and clinical manager of PeriOperative Services. Assist in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and/or family by maintaining patient care areas in a clean and orderly manner according to hospital policies and procedures. * Restock anesthesia carts in Ambulatory Services and Endoscopy. Assisting as needed in the MOR, Cath Lab, L&D, and Bronch Suite. * Alerts management to the functional status of equipment in all Perioperative areas. * Restocks supplies from SPD, Central Stores, and in the anesthesia machines and carts. * Monitors and replaces gas tanks in tank room, operating rooms, and patient stretchers. * Prepares OR for scheduled and unscheduled procedures as needed * Assembles and provides the necessary equipment for each procedure * Assists with coordinating phone calls and scheduling cases for Perioperative services as needed * Utilizes universal precautions and proper body mechanics and all assigned duties * Safely handles and disposes of hazardous materials * Transfers patients safely as required * Transports and protect patient specimens to the lab * Cleans and disinfects in rooms in PeriOp area (OR, Endo, PreOp, PACU) * Handles/Protect patients belongings according to hospital procedure * Maintains OR equipment storage room * Performs other duties as assigned * Weekend and Holiday Requirements Education Qualifications: High school diploma (equivalent). Preferred Qualifications: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, or two (2) years experience in a direct patient care/nursing support role Critical Success Factors: Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
