The Inventory Specialist works with the Perioperative Managers and Surgical Specialty Leaders to identify supply/inventory improvement opportunities. When requested, the Inventory Specialist processes instrument and equipment repair requests. In addition to providing an organized and clean environment, the Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining a database of inventory items. This position requires a self-assured, well organized person with leadership ability. A Place to Be Proud.ResponsibilitiesPerforms 'par level' restocking functions for perioperative supplies. Establish/monitor/adjust as required.Orders, breaks-down and stocks supplies in collaboration with Perioperative Managers and Specialty Leaders.Maintains a current inventory database.Identifies ways to improve inventory structure and reduce inventory costs. Implements changes once approval for suggestions is obtained.Maintains a clean, neat environment.Uses proper inventory management skills such as rotating stock, checking for outdated materials, etc.Communicates with the Purchasing Department to ensure proper delivery, and communicates information on backorder items.Assists with department product/equipment trials.Processes instrument and equipment repair requests where required.Act as liaison between perioperative areas and the Supply Chain operations function of the Hospital.Identifies problems and issues and resolves in a timely manner.Supports teamwork environment embracing cross-functional collaboration.Commits to a value for customer service.Establishes and maintains appropriate professional and ethical relationships with vendor representatives.Works in EPIC to ensure bill only requisitions are complete and processes accordingly.
